Today I happened to meditate on the word of God. I would like to share it with you today.
God says to “Seek first the Kingdom and the Righteousness, and all these things will be given to you.” So that made me think what are the priorities in my life.
What am I living for ?
Before saying this word, the Bible in Matthew 6 talks about doing everything before God and not unto man to get recognition from them. So when I think about it, I think majority of the things that we do are done for the recognition from man alone.
And again bible clearly says that if you seek recognition from man, you have already got your reward and there won’t be any further reward from God. Then later Matthew 6 talks about your eye that it is the light of your body and if your eyes be darkness, how great is that darkness.
What does that mean ? It simply means where we are focussed on with our life. Are we focussing on the fame and riches alone ? If so our whole life is in darkness.
But to live in light and to life for God, you have to Seek first the Kingdom and the righteousness.
When I thought about it, I happened to analyze my own life. Why am I doing what I am doing ? Is it all with the right motives.
I realized that I have a deep desire to spend more time with God, read bible more, talk to God more, do something to share the gospel.
While all this are something that needs high priority in my life, all those are being sidetracked due to work and business and other things. That realization then led me to the word of God which talks about the parable of the sower and the seeds. I searched to see which of those seed, applies to my life and this is what I found.
Matthew 13:22 – He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Eventhough I received the word, the care of this world is chocking me and trying to make me unfruitful.
So a reprioritization is urgently needed in life. I would like to spend more time with God, do everything in God’s guidance and live my life for God, seeking first the Kingdom and His righteousness. And everything that I do need to gather me riches in heaven and not here on earth.
John 15:2 – I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Whatever I do, let it be for God. How man share the same desires ? If you do, please let me know by posting your comment below. It would be a great encouragement to unite together for God.
